History

The plugin system was added to Koha in early 2013, in "Bug 7804 - Add Koha Plugin System".

Note

The term "plugin" is used in a number of different contexts in Koha:

  • Extra functionality that is packaged into a KPZ file and uploaded through the "Manage plugins" feature under Administration. The present category should only be used for these kinds of plugins.
  • Template Toolkit plugins that extend the templating system
  • Helper scripts found in cataloguing/value_builder
